US PERM green-card processing suspended for Microsoft, Adobe and six IT firms since Oct 8

The US Department of Labor announced on Oct 8 it would stop accepting and processing PERM permanent labor certification applications involving Microsoft, Adobe, Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL and Capgemini, as covered by Reuters, CNBC and others and analyzed by Legal 500. Such suspensions can run up to 180 days during investigation and affect H-1B workers seeking extensions beyond six years; no formal Federal Register notice had been published as of the analysis date. Workers on those paths should watch for formal DOL guidance.
